This is getting hectic

Only four days of riding and I'm losing track of time. Days are measured in miles and the hours they take, dependent upon terrain and weather, and fellow riders. Today was 87 miles of northern Iowa, and so far the best day for me, but for those who started from Atlantic City the feelings were the same.

I rode with some folks I've not had the pleasure to accompany so far. Starting from Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Cresco I caught up with Susan, a strong rider I spent many miles with last year. From now on when I mention riders in my blogs I'll make their names links to their biography page for those interested in learning more about these characters who will be mentioned time and again. There was John, Everett, and Gerry, all good riders who helped make the day shorter. I prefer higher speeds to just save my butt from the time in the saddle. Eventually we caught up with Dan and Lydia, and made great headway finishing the last stretch into Forrest City, to yet another Emmanuel Lutheran Church. It so happens tomorrow will be in another church of the same name.

These folks really put on a great dinner, having us seated and served a coordinated gourmet meal. Afterward we had our presentation and a few riders spoke as we spread the word of our mission. There just aren't enough hours in the day, or too many miles, or too many hills, headwinds...it's bedtime already. Eighty-eight point five miles tomorrow. Somehow I always end up doing more.
